I found out today that paralegals are able (within reason, of course) to do work from home if they are working on a project that they could do from home. I brought home a project to work on this afternoon - and then of course didn't do it, but I will get it done before returning on Monday, which is the point.
It's nice to be treated like a professional. When I worked for the firm in Anchorage I could have done that, but for the fact that generally the assignments were too proprietary-software heavy for it, and the OPB would never have allowed people to work out from under her evil eye. The work at the university just didn't lend itself to that, but there are assignments here that do. It's a novel experience.
Instead of working, however, I actually took an evening off, sprawled on the couch, and listened to the cast commentary on The Two Towers. Not as good at the one on Fellowship of the Ring, I must admit - they were more into visiting with each other than talking about what was going on onscreen at times - but still entertaining. And then in the search for Easter Eggs I restarted the second half of the movie. Much Aragorn. Mmmmm......
Now off to bed and getting myself to work on studying in the morning. Must knuckle down, but I feel like the night off was vital - serious burnout was looming. I'm taken my breather, now ready to sprint for the finish line.
