Sanity...slipping.... [Feb. 9th, 2004|04:15 pm]

Two headlines have been on Yahoo all day today:

- Stewart case witness thought tip was OK
- Feds ending search for mad cow disease

Every time I glance at it, my mind sees "cow tipping."

In other news, an American Airlines pilot, fresh off mission work, took advantage of his captive audience for a little polling:

Speaking Monday on CNN's "American Morning," several passengers said the Sunday flight from Los Angeles to New York had not yet taken off, when the pilot chose to address everyone on board.

"He said he'd recently been on a mission trip, and he'd like all the Christians to please raise their hands," said passenger Jen Dorsey.

According to fellow passenger Karla Austin, "He said, 'If you are a Christian, raise your hand.' He said, 'If you are not, you're crazy'."

Austin said no passengers raised their hands.

Some people on board were quite alarmed that they were about to become victims of another terrorist act. I can't blame them. Crazy's crazy, no matter what stripes it wears.

And you gotta love the airline response:

In a statement, the airline said his comments amounted to a "personal level of sharing that may not be appropriate for one of our employees to do while on the job."

Yeah, maybe not....

I would have wanted off the plane right then.

Asking someone about their religions convictions or faith right before take off is not a good sign, because I would half expect the person to say, "Well, you need to say your final prayers cause this babies going down!"

better that kind of sharing than intimate details of his hampsters sex lives.
at least this is slightly contraversial, and gives people something to talk about at the dinner table.
:P
