Congrats on surviving graduation and having your daughter home for the summer. :)
"Jogging" consisted of something slightly faster than a walk for distances of about one fire hydrant to the next, about 4 times over the course of a little more than a mile. I know I need to go slow, and it was a conversational pace. Thanks for the reminder, though!
i am glad to read that you have her there and you all survived the journey! :) hehe read your husbands account and had to laugh some. OH dear, traveling the long and winding road is not all so great all the time. I love it alone. But with a group??? It can be a challenge to say the least.
Let's just say that his idea of music to stay awake by and mine are rather different animals....
Hey ... send her down here a week or two? jason and I need to be encouraged to walk. Bleh.
I am trembling in some trepidation - I told her she could be my personal trainer for the summer. She is, however, quite responsible and was already emphasizing the importance of variety in order to avoid shin splints and other such problems.

Re: There and Back again
I'm glad that you're getting to spend some time with Erin. Such things are useful.
Cindy and I are forcing ourselves to exercise as well...

Athletics geeks. A force to be reckoned with [g].
Congrats to your daughter on graduating. :D
I always liked Vermont. It's one of my designated future residences, especially around Burlington. It's great to know you're doing well.
She will be in the Burlington area. This amuses me to no end due to the prevalent place it played in an excellent Call of Cthulu roleplaying game in which we were once involved!
I love Cleveland. I am very happy here. I love my garden and my house and our friends and the many opportunities for cultural events. But it doesn't have a lot to offer teenagers who don't know anyone in the area. Nevertheless, it is simply a temporary engagement, and she will be off to Vermont for college after a summer of working, and not having anywhere to go or anything to do is highly conducive toward saving those earnings for school, which is of course the whole idea.
We are very close to the Rocky River reservation and can bike to it easily, which will probably be one of the regular activities in our get-in-shape program.
I'm thrilled she's there and safe! Also, once she gets to Vermont, let me know where and if you guys ever need accommodations up there to visit...
My FIL is a real estate broker in VT and he handles many rentals - for any friend of ours, special deals are made! Smiles and hugs!
That is so awesome to know! We will definitely keep it in mind if we get a chance to visit - between my school and her schedule, I have no idea when that would happen, but I will certainly be looking for opportunities. Thanks!
Hey, if she needs an exercise partner, I'm available for walks. I don't run really well, but it is something I'm trying to develop! Have tons of fun and I can't wait to meet her :)
We're going with our regular Monday night group to the Cedar Lee to see the 7:25 showing of Supersize Me this evening. There is generally dinner and discussion afterward. If you are interested and available, you should come. You'll get a chance to meet Erin along with some other friends of ours.
Thanks for the invite but I've got plans tonight. Please keep me in mind for next Monday if you are so inclined. I love hanging out with you guys!:)
Ooooh... she's not one of those "admonish the smokers on how bad the habit is for them" healthy people, is she? Because - if so - we might need to hold off on ANY plans for possible mutual social activities until fall.
See, I'm trying to quit, and nothing makes me want to light up more than someone telling me why I should quit. :-P
She's not the sort of person to get into other people's faces unless she knows them well, so I don't think you need worry about it. She isn't preachy except about white carbs. :-)
