There's a great big world out there! [Jul. 17th, 2004|03:59 pm]

[Current Mood |crushedpissed]

George went out to the garden, just for a breath of air. A moment later he reappeared. "Is your fountain supposed to be wheezing like an asthmatic?"

I leaped up, looking for my shoes.

"And it's raining," he added.

No shoes. Stripped out of the socks. Ran out into the rain to deal with saving the fountain. Got the water started. Stood out in with my toes in the grass, listening to water, feeling rain, and the breeze.

A few minutes passed. George cleared his throat. "Just so you know, it's 3:59."

I came back in. But I was pouting. There's a world outside of blogging and raster-burned eyes.

I don't want to go back to tunnel vision.

Hang in there, you're doing great!! I don't know that I could have pulled this off as well as you have so far. You definitely have my respect. I'm pulling for ya!

As for some topics:

1) What's the difference between religion and spirituality?
2) What lesson(s) did you learn from Annie that you would pass on to her kids now?
3) How would you re-structure grad/law school, if it was up to you?
4) If you had a fairly naive friend who was about to get married/become a parent, what would you want them to learn from your experience?
5) What's the main thimg about women and sexuality that men either don't get or often get wrong??

Gotta roll out for awhile. I may be back before you're done, but if not, know I'll be thinking of you (and Ferrett!) and pulling for you both. I admire what you're both doing here.

*Hugs*

They're great topics, but I don't know if I have the requisite brain activity to pull them off.

We live on high (for coastal Florida) ground, so we don't get flooded, but when it rains a lot we do get very soggy. Our property is flat, flat, flat, so the water doesn't run off anywhere in a hurry, and after a few days of torrential rain the ground just gets saturated and we wind up with vast puddles of water sitting around. Sometimes, we have to go outside, in the pouring rain, at night, to dig little drainage trenches so that the water stays out of the house and garage.

I love those times.
