PvP says it all for Star Wars fans today.

We don't want to believe. We don't want to hope. We know George will bone us in the end.

And yet....

Sadly, I didn't even feel a twinge of "Oooo, cool!" when I watched the Ep. III trailer -- George has already sucked almost all of the Star Wars geekiness out of me. Sure, I'll still go see the movie, but I'm not overly excited about it.

The trailer made it look dark, and if it succeeds in being the dark masterwork that it should be, it will be a fantastic movie.

However, I no longer believe it's possible.

Someone, tell me I'm wrong, please!

(Wookies!)

Mmmm.... Between the new trailer and the teaser on the Bastardized-But-Hey-It's-What-We-Got DVD set... the force is whispering to me "duel with lava...DUEL WITH LAVA!!!"

That and James Earl Jones doing that voice again. Can this movie make up for the sins of the others?

I must say, the "Duel With Lava" thought did cross my mind and briefly perk up my interest, but it was quickly crushed by the blandness of the rest of the trailer.

My heart goes out to you. Steel yourself against hope! You must resist!

But...but...but... Anakin has 2 lightsabers! And he's all makin with the evil eye thing. And then they had the rebreather going... And unless you're made of stone that sends shivers up and down your spine.

I will try to become more jaded by May 19th. I will not go to purchase toys with my brother at midnight (again) at Toys R Us. But I fear that I may be lost to the "Hope" side...

"Lord Vader..."
"Yes, Master."
"...Rise!"

*shiver shiver shiver*

I know. But he got me with the trailer to Clone Wars, too....

Yes, but who can resist the flipping Yoda? And frankly, if I was the Emperor... after the trailer-park trash recruits for Sith (Maul and Count Duku) it would be a no brainer to try and get Anakin over to the side of death, destruction, and the empire way.

Ditto. As far as trailers went, I thought it was neat but I didn't get a shiver the way I did for the past two.

I mean, I'm glad to see it, but it didn't break my heart the way the Attack of the Clones trailer did.

So long as Lucas is very clear that Episode III is his absolute last chance to redeem himself and go out with style, I do hold out a small hope that it will be good.

A *very* small hope, but I'm still going to see it in the theater... after all, as bad as Episode III probably will be, there's no way it'll be worse than "Aliens Vs. Predator", and I saw that like three times.

I watched the trailer thinking, "I'm not going to get excited. No, I doesn't look fabulous, did...did Hayden Christenson get hot? No, I'm not gonna be sucked in. Wookiees!"

The power of advertising compels you.

Need EP 3 NOW, please, Unca Georgie!

Sorry, I have vids languishing that cannot be completed until #3 arrives. I need it now for "Careless whisper" and "Angel in her Face"

Never underestimate the power of the Geek Side of the Force.

Seriously, I spent most of my day trying to get a pair of SW sims married. (they managed it) Now, I'm trying to get Luke pregnant. No more woo-hoo in the Hot Tub of Love for the Solos of the Skywalker Family.

I go to console myself by vidding Pirates of the Carribean. A lovely movie and Depp has signed on for 2 sequels. And I will never again attend a con or SCA event without being asked "No, your real last name" because of it.

(vids are here)

I honestly fail to see why everyone is getting so excited over the Wookiees. When I saw the trailer, the moment that grabbed me was:
"Lord Vader." - "Yes, Master?" - "Rise."
Seeing Vader shackled to that operating table gave me goosebumps and, to quote Frank'n'Furter, made me shiver with antici-pation.

That and the fact that it looks like Obi-Wan is so getting his ass handed to him by Anakin.
