Stayed home from work today, just hurting too damned bad to deal with sitting up in a hard chair for hours. Trying to get the referral doctor appointment, determine if I need preapproval for surgery, if that is the final decision (which I think it will be), and get into surgery by Friday, for two reasons: first, to be optimally effective surgery must be performed within 10 days of injury, and the sooner the better; second, classes resume on Tuesday and aurgery on Friday would give me a three-day weekend for initial recovery. I don't want to miss any classes. This isn't just paranoia or anal-retentiveness; I'm already going to be working from a disadvantage with all this and compounding that with missed lectures is a bad idea.
So here I am, trying to make arrangements. The doctor's office isn't answering the phone, the insurance company isn't answering the phone, and their website, where one can allegedly take care of much of the stuff I need to resolve, is down.
Aggravation compounded. I'm trying to do all this in pain, on meds that are dulling my wits, and with a limited amount of time. The stonewalls are annoying me.
