Fitness filter - stratergery [Mar. 24th, 2005|07:10 am]
Zoethe
[Current Mood |accomplishedaccomplished]

The new plan, as carried out yesterday:

1.) Skip working out.

2.) Eat way more than I intended.

3.) Wake up almost 2 pounds lighter.

4.) Do not attempt to repeat - that way leads to madness.

[g]

Last night I got a whole new wardrobe. And it was hanging right here in my closet! About a year ago I went nuts ordering suits on clearance from Roaman's and Jessica London. I ordered in what I thought was my size, but when they got here it turned out that they were all cut much smaller than the Lane Giant or Silouhettes sizes, and none of them fit.

I was too ashamed to send them back.

Yesterday I decided to see if I could get into them, and low and behold I was a regular fashion show! The really nice part is that they are mostly in great colors for spring and summer, so I will be able set for the coming seasons. I looked nice, I felt good, and I was able to recognize that it's okay to be the size I am for now. I don't have to be impatient with myself, just keep concentrating on being healthier and let things take their natural course. It's the whole basis of what I'm doing, but it's easy to lose track of, so it was great to get that insight back again yesterday.

That was a good, good feeling.

Now I've gotten up on time, worked out, eaten breakfast, and am trying to decide if I feel crappy enough to stay home. It comes in waves, this crappy feeling. I was fine, now I'm bleah again.

Ah, well. Off to the shower.

(Oh, and the icon? That is what I look like in my fantasies. Complete with the gun.[g])

(P.S. - I left this one public, in case anyone else who didn't know about my fitness filter wants to be put on it. I've gotten a number of new readers since I started this a while back. Sorry to those of you who aren't interested; I promise I won't be carrying on blubber babble in public too often!)

That's fantastic! *Makes mental note to not get rid of too-small clothes just yet - there's always hope...* I'd love to be on your fitness filter, if you don't mind.

Re: Aeryn Sun is v yum

By luck I came across some very nice Ralph Lauren slacks I had purchased and never worn that were hanging in my closet. Lucky because I had NO black slacks that still fit and thought I would have to go shopping.

I am enjoying the new clothes. It was hard to figure out what to wear first!

That is great! I have some of my skinny clothes still lurking in my closet, it's my goal to eventually fit back into them. I'd love to be on your fitness filter, if it would be ok. I'm always interested to hear what other people are doing, what works for them, etc.

I have some used skinny clothes left from before, but not many; I wasn't working in a law office back then and so had nothing career appropriate anyway. It was just stupidity that served me well.

You're on the filter now; welcome.

I'd love to be on it. I'm dealing with a lot of body issue stuff so reading about other people can be encouraging & enlightening.

You can put this LJ on it, or the one I specifically use for tracking my workouts, sios_gymdiary. The latter is nothing but gym numbers, so it's not terribly interesting reading.

Oh, I do so look forward to going through that old suitcase in the closet - the one that holds old faves that I've not been able to wear in a couple of years. Hang in there, lady, you're doing great! :D

I loved your idea of only eating things that are delicious. I'm working on that one while I finish rehabbing the Bionic Knee of Stainless Steely Doom.

Gotcha. And the delicious foods thing saved me from a bag of Cheetos yesterday - they are "yummy," but was that really what I wanted to put in my mouth? I ate an orange instead.

I applaud your efforts, and your success. Way to go!

And now - since you're doing what I *should* be doing, I'd like to be on your fitness filter too, please. Seeing you talk about it may encourage me to become more consistent. (Certainly can't hurt. *g*)

I would love to be on the fitness filter! I'm trying to make a more healthy/financially possible lifestyle into habit (routine exercise, cooking all of my meals rather than eating out every meal).

I'm glad your success was rewarded with a nice, new wardrobe!

I would love to be on the fitness filter - it's always encouraging to know other people are going through similar things with diet and exercise. It also helps me not strangle the teenage boys in my house, with their 6000 cal/day metabolisms...

Yeah, I am experiencing that teenage boy thing for the first time as an adult, now that my nephew is living with us. It's kinda scary!

Oooo! 2 lbs from doing nothing for the day. That's a nice feeling. Don't you wish it always worked that way?

I know we traded comments a while back about some weight loss methods. I am using myfooddiary.com and I've lost 18 lbs in six weeks! So I totally feel you on the excitement of the shedding of the pounds. :) I've fallen off the exercise wagon this week though!

For the record, I am most certainly interested in your weight loss journey, but you don't know me at all really, so I would completely understand you not being comfortable sharing that with someone you don't know.

Oh, I don't mind putting you on at all! I just don't want to bore people who aren't interested.

I've used FitPlan since the beginning of the year and have lost 35-1/2 pounds. So I have no room to be complaining! (I still do on occasion, however!) Having a group with which to share has been very rewarding.

Add me too, please. :-) I've gotten a scrip for Xenical and am joining Curves as an Easter gift to myself. Counting carbs and exercising is what I am starting out with, since I have to count carbs for my daughter's meals I'm used to it and it's easy.
