[Current Mood |sickhome sick]

MidWest Lord of the Rings fans, our day is coming. The Lord of the Rings Exhibit is coming to Indianapolis from October 6 until sometime in January. Not only will it be everything that was at the Boston show and more, they will be showing all three movies on their IMAX screen.

And lo, there was much fangirl squeeing.

We will definitely be going. I don't know exactly when, but probably by the end of October or beginning of November. I am regarding it as a two-day event - one for seeing the displays, one for movies - so we may be looking to see if there are any Magic tourneys going on that could occupy Ferrett for the movie day, since I can't see him wanting to sit through the movie, IMAX or no.

If I weren't sick as a dog I would be jumping up and down with glee.

It is so nice to live in a city that every once in a while gets something very, very cool.

I actually saw the first lotr movie on an IMAX screen (6 stories high counts right?). I found the whole 'shake the camera during a fight' thing to be very distracting on such a scale.

Not that I didn't enjoy the movie. It just inspired a new appreciation of steady camera work during fights. It's nice to be able to tell what's going on during the intricately planned combat scenes.

Hmm. I wonder how the guy would feel about Indy for the honeymoon. Our weddng date falls perfectly in there.

It's close enough to not have to take too much time off work, and far enough to be away.

I think it's a great idea. Then again, Ferrett and I went to the first Farscape convention for our honeymoon.

I saw the very first one in an IMAX in Atlanta. It was the absolute coolest thing ever. Well, ok, not EVAR, but you know what I mean. Definitely squee worthy. :D
