FREEEEDOM!!! [Dec. 2nd, 2005|08:04 am]

[Current Mood |relievedrelieved]

Ferrett and I had the house to ourselves yesterday evening. Kris and Jon are in their own apartment. They have to come back today to pick up some things, and considering the amount of crap down there it may that they'll make a final trip on Saturday, but they are definitely in their own place.

Josh stopped by one last time to pick up some clothes and things after his dad left for work. He called me into the kitchen and said, "I wanted to thank you for all you've done for us. Even in hard times, you stuck with us. If it hadn't been for you, I don't know where we would be today. I love you, Aunt Gini." He hugged me and told me to thank Ferrett for him, and that he hoped we would get together and have dinner or watch a movie or something now and then.

It made me feel good. I am glad we got through all this without it tearing the family to shreds. I might even miss them.

Just a little.

At least now you can send them home, much like how much fun it is to borrow someone else's little kids.. you can send them back when you're done with the fun.

I'm so happy this all worked out for you without permanent rifts. Now you and Ferrett can get back to your lives in time for the ruckus of the holidays :-)

That was nice of him to say that (although had he said it on a regular basis while they were living there, I'm sure that would have been equally appreciated).

So how many hours did your (and Ferrett's) dance of joy last? :)

I don't think it has completely sunk in yet. We went out to dinner to celebrate, but I will really feel it when the last of their stuff is out of the family room and we can rearrange it to our liking.

Oh yay! I'm so glad that it worked out as planned. I know you and Ferrett are glad to have your own space (though I'm sure just having that space back will take some getting used to!) and I am sure Kristi and Jon feel the same.

Cheers to everyone!

Everyone should have an aunt and uncle like you and the Ferrett, Mrs. Ferrett. :)

"I wanted to thank you for all you've done for us.

Hwere is a sign of a maturing sensitive man.....you should be proud to call your nephew.....but then again after having your example, what else could he become?....Good job!

Looking at this from a distance, from when your sister was suffering so much with no place to turn to now when she has her family and a new apartment it looks sort of logical and easy, but I know it was a great leap of faith and love for you and your husband.

Congrats! I think you should celebrate by doing something naked. :)
