Weird-ass dream [Dec. 4th, 2005|09:39 am]
Zoethe
[Current Mood |weirdweirded-out]

Had a long and complicted dream last night, with which I won't bore you except one detail: at the end, when we arrived back at the house where we started, a pair of vultures was perched on either side of the driveway. When we got out of the car, they didn't fly away, but acted very friendly. Looking at the female, I realized that her body consisted of a large chianti bottle. The male's was a bag of candy bars.

What the fuck???

You're obviously having cravings.

And, for god's sake, are you aware of The Music Genome Project? Because you and Ferrett will love this thing, and I'm obsessed so I have to tell you anyway.

But the dream . . . that's definitely about cravings.

Wow. Ironic, considering how much both of you have done this year to take care of yourselves physically.

I don't like Chianti. He doesn't like Nestle Crunch, which is what the candy bag mostly contained. I didn't make the connection, but I see a little bit now.

It was weird.

So, was it less like the vultures were the embodiment of the wine and the chocolate, and more like they were hanging out to enjoy the things you weren't having?

Maybe. On the other hand, suzieboz thinks it's about sex.

Of course, she thinks everything is about sex.

Exactly, and since chocolate and wine are shown to stimulate your brain in the same sort of way, it wasn't too much of a stretch.....

Your on your own with the vultures though...

Vultures seem obvious to me

This seems like a dream about getting people out of your life who have been feeding off of you for so long, and having nothing but pleasant rewards awaiting you afterwards.

Re: Vultures seem obvious to me

I studied dreams (especially Lucid Dreaming) for a few years, and usually dreams are a catalog of your present thoughts. Right now, people are moving out of your house, you saw them as an imposition (for the most part), and you see them moving out as a good thing - hence, a negative image for them (vultures) mixed with a positive image because you are associating them with privacy and your own space (good things - aka liquor and candy).

would you like to explain. . .?

LOL, hmm, then, would you like to explain why one morning I awoke and uttered the phrase, "The Seven Samuri Sock Puppets."

Or why, one time, i dreamed that I was pregnant and I happened to run into my best friend at a grocery store - and she already had one child AND she was pregnant yet again when I KNOW she doesn't want to have kids?

it would be interesting to hear if you have anything.

No clue - don't know anything about you or your circumstance. Sorry!

LOL...that's quite a dream. It certainly accurately portrays what excess eating (of junk food) and drinking really means, though.

Sounds to me like your vices are being represented by the vultures.

Maybe some part of you stressing about things and coming to the realization that, no matter how odd/hard/wierd/painful/stressful things get, there's always something to look forward to at home, though some of the treats might seem kind of unpleasant in light of diet 'n' exercise???

That, not matter how bad it gets, there's always the escapes of alcohol and chocolate to prey upon the stress and anxiety life brings?

Some part of you thinking that men are sweet and women are intoxicating....which would give you a distinct advantage, I think....and that's always present and looming over any situation?

Just some thoughts....

If you'd looked in their beaks, you'd have found they had candy-corn teeth.

Drink the chianti, eat the chocolate, and in a dream, there are NO calories...
