|Best Christmas gift ever

Something about Christmas turns us back into little kids. We got to bed late, and yet before 8am we were both lying awake, waiting for the other to wake up. Being respectful of each other even though we were both awake already, assuming the other wouldn't be so silly as to wake up extra early because it was Christmas.
But we eventually figured out that we were both being way too nice. And then the Christmas frenzy began. Much media. Much, much media. An absurd amount of media. Ferrett also gave me a fire bowl, one of those outside fireplaces. I've wanted one for a few years now, but hadn't mentioned it for a while. I love it when he remembers things like that about me. Makes me feel loved.
But you know what really makes me feel loved? At the end of the present opening, he put on a CD. And I sat here listening to a catchy tune that was the story of our life together, as sung by a star of the filking circuit, Tom Smith. Written in the style of Christine Lavin, this delightful song about Gini and The Ferrett covered all the highlights of our life together. Yes, he commissioned a song about our life. I was floored, and delighted, and amazed. Wowed. Completely wowed.
Thank you, sweetie. You know how to make a girl feel loved. And anyone who wants to here all about us can go to Ferrett's journal for a link to the song.
