Catch y'all later [Jan. 12th, 2006|03:13 pm]
Zoethe
[Current Mood |excitedexcited]

The sun is shining and it's supposed to be 70 tomorrow here in Cleveland.

I am getting on a plane and heading for Tel Aviv, where it is 57 and pouring rain.

I apparently pissed off that Murphy guy once again.

Anyway, shutting down the computer and closing the suitcase. I doubt I'll be in touch with LJ while I'm away, but I promise a full report upon my return.

Laters!

It's Tel Aviv! The 57-degrees-and-rain bit lasts for about an hour, and then the sun shines again. Don't go taking Mr Murphy's name in vain.

And (hoping they still make the old-fashioned one) give a try to Israeli cottage cheese. You haven't had anything like it in your life. Makes dieting fun. Used to come in little round white plastic boxes with a green cottage on them. It's called "Gveenah Cottage".

And tomatoes.

How does it differ from the cottage cheese they sell here in the states?

How does Château Pétrus 1964 differ from two-bit plonk in a cardboard box?

Whassa whosa whassa? ;-)

I'm guessing they're both wines. Wine in cardboard box = what people I knew bought in college. I am not familiar with the other vintage you referenced, but I am assuming it is superior.

Is the taste that significantly different (speaking of cottage cheese now, not the wine)?

Oh yes. I wouldn't be making such a meal of it (haha) otherwise. It's a bit like fresh mozzarella, entirely lovely.

But that was more than 10 years ago. I pray they haven't mdernized the plant or summat.

Mmmm...fresh mozzarella... *drool*

We made lasagna this weekend, and I was worried we would eat through all of the mozzarella before it came time to assemble the dang thing!

We have a habit of doing that when we make chicken saltimbocca.

Re: Hello

I won't feel bad at all. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't feel bad if you just started reading my entries as of today, or whenever you get time. This is supposed to be fun, not work. :D

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip. I look forward to reading about it when you get rested.
