Well, that was not the Saturday I expected. The Saturday I expected was a day of quilting.

Had Book Group here last night, which was a lot of fun. Everyone left at about 1am, and picked up and did the dishes, then checked my email, meaning it was about 2:30 when I finally got in bed. I turned off the alarm clocks, but woke up just before 9 anyway. Got up and checked email, talked with Ferrett on the phone, frittered around a bit, and decided to lay down and read something light and fluffy, so I chose Laurel K. Hamilton's "The Laughing Corpse," the second book in the Anita Blake series (yes,it's junk, but sometimes you want junk). I read for about half an hour, then fell asleep until almost noon. Got up, did a little writing, a little more frittering, fell back to sleep for another half hour. Got up, worked out, took a bath (and read in the tub, always the best), then fell asleep from about 4:30 until 8:15.

Maybe I've been going at life a wee bit too hard, what with having just been sick and all....

I didn't think the Anita Blake series was junk until about the fourth or fifth books. I mean, obviously it's not serious reading, they're pretty much "bubblegum books," but that doesn't make them junk.

Your mileage might vary, as they say.

It's fun, and entertaining. Definitely not serious reading, but everyone needs a bit of bubblegum now and then.

It turns into pr0n about the fifth (?) book. I picked them up because I live in St Louis, and I thought that was cool. I could pick out places that she was writing about. The retirement home that backs into a cemetery? I know EXACTLY where it is. But when Anita loses her mind in the 5th book, I kinda quit reading them...

And yes, I read Dean R Koontz cause I like potato chip books, too.

I've heard that it becomes big-time porn in the fifth book, but I'm enjoying the first couple at least!
