|Murphy strikes again

Yesterday I managed to drag a few hours of work out to cover a whole day, but I knew there was nothing on my plate today. The boss was out of the office, the office manager was gone, there was no project to be seen. So I came prepared. I brought my Contracts book and notes and emailed my budding outline to myself and planned on asking my supervisor if she minded that I spent a few hours outlining (she’s really cool and supportive of my law school efforts, so I was certain that it would be fine).
Never touched them. A follow-up call to remind someone of documents they owed me led to them all being dumped on me, and then a steady stream of projects bubbled up.
As Lyssa would say, all hail Eris! Goddess of discordia, there is no best-laid-plan you cannot fuck up.
