|At least I'm a happy zombie....

Erin arrived last night for a visit. She'll be here for a little over a week.
So of course the first thing I did was stay up with her until 4:30 in the morning. We played Rock Band until 1am-ish, when Ferrett proved that he is much wiser than I and went to bed. Then we yakked for a while and ended up watching Hairspray. I meant only to stay through "Good Morning, Baltimore," but ended up "just one more song"-ing my way through the whole thing. It's always more fun to share something new with someone than to ask them how they liked it the next day.
Everyone else is asleep. (Ferrett, my knight in shining black t-shirt, got up very early to take the car into the shop because it was making a funny noise last night. Fortunately it was only a loose muffler bracket and by getting it right in we were able to avoid any actual problems. But he just decided to take a nap.) Honestly, I should probably be. I'm really tired. But I have some work that has to get done (I'm writing now because I'm waiting on the computer to complete copying some files over.) Erin wants to play Diablo II, so my first thought was to get the work done on the desktop that I need to, but I realized that she's probably going to want to play most when I'm not available, so I need to go shuffle through the closet of retired computers and see if I can put together a system for her to use. I wish it was possible to simply not work while she's here, but that's kind of totally out. Still, it's awesome to have her here. We're planning on seeing people and doing a few things, but mostly hanging out.
The most awesome thing, though, is that she is now 21 and we will be able to take her to the Velvet Tango Room. She was here last spring, but just before her 21st birthday, so we weren't able to do it then. It feels like a rite of passage.
Okay, off to work. [*yawn*]
