I was! I worked out instead!!
Do this: set a timer. Fifteen minutes. When it goes off, you stop.
It's like the old diet problems- you start craving things, and if you suppress that craving, you end up bingeing on the desired item, blowing the diet. In that case, a bite or two or a small serving of the desired item will 'scratch the itch' and make the diet more bearable.
Try it. It'll help.
Not really an option - I've tried that before and I'm always in the middle of a game and just this one more....
Instead, I went and worked out.
worked out and quilted!!!
Why not just delete the games? You can always add them back later if you reallly want to.
Oh, they are deleted. Hence merely twitching, not giving in. (There is one other computer set up here that has them, but it's not one I usually use and it's turned off.)
oh ok. Yeah...if they were still installed, I'd be tempted to play. Thankfully, the pre-installed games usually don't hold my attention for very long anyhow.
Good idea, and good job.
I had to give up Freecell about a year ago. I started obsessing about my winning percentage, to the point that I would spend forever trying to figure out a single game, and muss over the details of any game I lost. Worse, I would jump all over anyone who casually opened a game (usually ending up taking over it to try and win so it wouldn't affect my score. If that's not indicative of inner neuroses, I don't know what is). Now, I feel pretty stable about the game since I left it. I can play it casually, as long as it's on other people's computers, and not mine...because that would mess up my percentage. >_>
So when things go bad, remember it could always be much worse!
Deleting it was the only way for me to go. I was not quite that obsessed, but close.
It was when that idea struck me that I realized I might be in trouble.
Somewhat off topic, but also a better activity... I think you asked about bellydancing possibilities in the Cleveland area recently? This post
talks of an upcoming event in Cleveland and you can probably get more info from the Lisa Wilhelm Academy of Dance or Soraya.
Disclaimer - I have never taken classes or workshops with/from Soraya and haven't otherwise heard anything good or bad about her...
Wow, that's literally 3 blocks from me, but I think I'm already booked that day.
Well, this way you know bellydancing options are close to you when you're ready for it...
I also started playing Freecell games in order once upon a time... but I think I only got a few hundred into them before I got tired of playing for a while or had a bunch of other stuff to do and lost the piece of paper that had what game I was up to on it... yay for working out and doing things you really want to be doing instead of killing time on the computer.

Wow. That's insane and awesome!
WORK ON QUILTING. You know you want to.
I did. And worked out. I was a good girl!
YAY! That's hard to do sometimes.
