Looking for the silver lining [Jan. 19th, 2008|03:36 pm]
[Current Mood |exhaustedexhausted]

After all that frantic cleaning? The accompanying exhaustion headache today? The wandering aimlessly about in a mall during the time that the people were supposed to be here looking at the house?

They didn't show up.

I needlessly exhausted myself.

On the other hand, though, I really enjoy having a clean house. I wish I had the energy to keep it like this all the time.

And thanks to the joys of clearance sales, I have a new skirt, new slacks, and 5 new tops, all for under $70.

But man, am I tired. And I have a shindig to attend tonight, and one tomorrow, and clients to deal with.

It's harder, really, that lookers are so few and far between. Vigilance wanes in the face of more pressing issues, and then it's a chore to get everything pulled back together.

I always found that frustrating about my parents selling their houses. And then a few times they came by when I was the only one home because there was no advance notice, and I had no idea what to do aside from be polite and try to blend in with the wallpaper. XP

We moved around quite a lot when I was younger, so this happened many times. x.x

We moved a lot when I was a kid, but generally in the dead of the night to avoid the landlord, so house showing was never a problem!

Haha! We did mostly live in rented houses until we moved to Missouri, so it wasn't until I was old enough to understand how to feel awkward that there were people wandering around my house.

Well, all the work you did to get it clean is worthwhile - it'll be that much easier to keep it clean for the next showing. Good luck.

Ouch! Yeah, I've done the emergency, last minute, almost no warning situation of cleaning my house perfect in mere hours. Amazing what adrenaline does!

At least your week will be less stressful!

And I have a shindig to attend tonight,

How big a geek am I, if I immediately pictured you dressed up in Kaylee's pink floofy dress?

That's a scary idea.

But highly amusing.

People suck when they do that. We only had it happen once or twice, and thankfully we didn't have to do any super cleaning the night before (our buyers seemed to come every day), so it wasn't horrible, but it's still so rude.

Good that it's clean though, and that you got a new outfit! :)

Phuquers!!! Oh well, at least the house is clean in case someone else shows up, right?

As if. That's the first showing we've had since before Christmas. No, it'll be a pit long before then.

You and me both!

I've had that happen: cleaning all day for a no show event. And felt exactly the same way. (hugs)

We can never move. I would not be able to get the house clean, unless the kids are all in school or out of the house? My 1 and 3 yr olds can mess faster than I can clean.

Considering how much work moving is, that may not be a bad thing.

Mystery comment!

Hooray for new cheap clothes! Especially if they are purty. But some of us like you better without them ;o)

Especially your husband, I'd imagine.
