Bravo, Mr. McCain.

My heart is too full for words.

It is an excellent speech, I'm kinda mad that the audience is being so nasty about it, though.

The people there are people who have given their heart and soul to this. It's hard to let go.

Still, there could have been more grace. Even my uncle (a rabid Republican) kept his comments limited to "Well, Mr. Obama, let's see what you can do."

As I said elsewhere, imagine how disappointed we'd be if it had gone the other way. Screams of election fraud would be filling the streets.

I can't be too hard on them - it's always easier to be a gracious winner.

Very good speech. I'm surprised he did it so soon, but considering I can only remember as far back as the last two elections...

This was a blowout. There is nothing to delay for. And McCain can go back to being more moderate again, bringing the country together.

I'm impressed.

This strange feeling. Is it hope?

I was most impressed by his speech. I think he dug deep and found that decent core that he misplaced during some of the more ugly moments of his campaign.
Bravo, indeed.

Maybe I'm drunk on hope, but I really believe that McCain will be a really strong uniting force. After he remembers how to be the man that he was.

I hope he can pull it off. Still, far too happy to care right now.

McCain mentions Obama and people boo. Obama mentions McCain in his acceptance speech, and people clap. McCain has reaped the people he's sown.

Be fair; it's easier to be gracious when you've won.

And easy for a true statesman to nip that negative crowd behavior in the bud right when it first began.

Instead he said nothing and let the noise get louder and more threatening with each speech. "Kill him! Terrorist!"

Those people are his people, his base. I think that's a fair statement.

Here by way of a friend.

I thought McCain's concession was remarkable --human and honest. I'm with others who hope he'll stay a force in politics. We need him, though I think we could do without his handlers.

McCain's speech was the best thing I've heard from him in months. It restored my admiration and respect for him, and that makes me happy.

It was a good speach, and it needed to be said...

But I really woke up expecting more comments about the "Americans never quit. We never surrender."

It was JUST a little Galaxy Quest for me, and made me giggle endlessly.

Sen. McCain and President Bush both showed grace and dignity with Sen. Obama's election. Not too bad for a couple of people that have been repeatedly crucified in these journals.
