I am sharing with you what my Dr. told me to do (because as you may recall, I was too sick to move on Friday morning and contemplated suicide ever so briefly rather than have my ears and eyes explode) - Mucinex DM 2 tabs every 12 hours; 600 mg Ibuprofen every 6 hours (use this responsibly as it is a prescription dosing of Ibuprofen); saline nasal spray every hour or two as necessary.
I won't say I feel superfantastic, but I do feel well enough to drag out of bed to take care of my 2 year old who also has this now (the sickness demons love me).

Re: Get better
Ooo, Mucinex! I forgot we have some. I will go dose up right now. Thanks for the advice.
No problem. I had actually come to the same combination of meds out of desperation on Friday. My mother actually called my doctor for me before she came to take me to the ER she was that worried about me. My mom is made of solid awesome.

Re: Get better
Your mom is awesome. I hope you're feeling better.
I am about 70% now, but seriously, I couldn't believe how much the first dose helped, I did get a little nap in. I'm sorry you have to work today, that's going to suck.
there is a horrible bug going around. we've got two of the four of us down sick, and I'm afraid I'm catching it....
I'm outraged because I had a flu shot, dammit, and so should be somehow exempt from all horrible bugs because I faced the needle!!!
Nothing to do with common sense, that. But still, I'm offended by the universe at the moment.
*hugs* Poor thing! At least you have awesome icons. ; )
BTW, are you getting Ferrett's emails? He hasn't heard from you and was wondering if the Bradaki Automated E-Mail Fortress of Randomness had suddenly turned on him! ;-)
Coolness. I know you've been busy, but the occasional email-munching nature of your system made me think I should check!
*hugs* from a safe, non-communicable distance ;)
Mucinex is some good shit. Glad to hear you have it on hand. Try to stay hydrated too, it can make that harder to deal with.
I have a large glass of weak tea beside me as I attempt to work.
Oh no! I hope you both feel better soon! (Andrew and I opt for ear plugs when it gets that bad.)
And oh em gee. How much do we love your headdesk icon!! :D
It is indeed a headdesk of awesomeness!
I can't stand earplugs. Fortunately, we have a guest room with a good mattress, so it's not tragic.
:( I hope you guys feel better soon. Being sick is no fun at all.
Thanks, me too! I'm definitely NOT having any fun right now.
You poor thing! I completely sympathize with the whole snoring problem, as only I can. I hope you drain out and feel much better very soonly. Misery ain't fun. Nope, no way.
Thanks. I figure most these things run their course in 4-5 days, so I'm hoping this is the worst of it. I wish I didn't have to go to court in the morning, and with the nastiest, most miserable trustee of the lot and a client who's unlikely to show.
I guess I can hope to give it to him....
It's good to have things in life to look forward to...
Indeed. What's life without anticipation?
They joys of being one's own boss, or at least irreplaceable to the point of nothing short of a valid death certificate can keep you away.
Get well soon, both of you.
Thanks. Improving - now into that "could work but don't wanna because I worked while I was too sick to, dammit!" phase.
