|First Rock Band Wednesday: success!
||[May. 13th, 2009|11:17 pm]
There are 8 of us, switching off different tasks. I'm just checking my email and making sure that I didn't have court early tomorrow.
Pesky living 2 hours away! *grump*
We'll see what happens after the Birthday in July, before then I dunno if I'd be comfortable coming up by myself (I haven't talked to babymonkey
in what feels like forever, so I dunno if they'd be willing to come with), what with not actually having met you yet. XD
Hon, we flew all the way to Germany to spend a week with people we'd never met. This is not A Deal for us. ;-)
No, I get that it's not a big deal to you, but it's a big deal to me. Meeting someone in person at a pre-arranged place is different for me than showing up at their house and saying "oh hey, put me up for the night", even if I gave advance notice. It's not your comfort level I'm worried about, it's mine. x.x And it's not like I'm afraid you'll turn out to be evil serial killers either, I just have rules, I guess, of how I want things to go. If I make a fool of myself the first time I meet you guys, I would prefer it be at a neutral place that I could then avoid for a long time, rather than your home. Or something. It's late and I'm not making sense anymore.
Well it's planned to be a regular event, and we have a guest room, so if you find yourself in the way of having a Thursday free and want to drive up, we'd love to have you!
Over the summer, that could be a distinct possibility.
Apart from Fleet parties, I know we're going to be up at some point to go to WildwaterKingdom (formerly Six Flags, formerly Geauga Lake).
We could possibly schedule something around that.
Unfortunately, I have 3 1/2 more weeks of school before Summer Break, though. *pout*
The real success was that we found your house despite it being sadly sans flamingos. We just followed the light of the Virgin Mary :-0
Yes, that's probably the best instruction to give people: we live one house south of the BVM.
I don't know how you guys play, but for our Rock Band Fridays, we do sets of two songs and then all shift instruments in order to get maximum "everyone plays." Tag-in, tag-outs welcome.
How did you manage it?
Nothing quite that formal, but it turned out to work about that way - 2-3 songs, and then at least an offer of instrument exchange.
