|My Relaxed Summer, Take One
||[May. 22nd, 2003|06:16 pm]
Okay, so finals ended Monday. And right on schedule the next thing came rolling in. The Moot Court oral competition to determine the final team. I had the orientation session this evening. There are three training sessions next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and the competition is on Friday May 30.
Except that by Thursday May 29 I will be on a plane to Montana.
So to further complicate my life, in order to compete for the final Moot Court team I will get one practice session on Tuesday, and will have to do my oral argument next Wednesday, since they won't make everyone wait an extra five days for my return. Meaning, since I am leaving town directly after work tomorrow, I have to get at least the rough draft of it done tonight. Instead of the relaxed evening I had planned.
At this rate, I will finally have a quiet evening to do nothing sometime in mid-June.
I am grateful that they are willing to pull together 6 people on Wednesday for my benefit alone. Really, I am. It's a smile, not a wince. Honest.
Ferrett gave me the "you need to do this" pep talk from his cell phone on his way to Ann Arbor. I know it's the best thing C-M has going for it, so I will try my best. And I'm certain that if I take my materials with me to MarCon, Jeff will be more than happy to spend an hour or so working with me on this (hi, sweetie...). But, darn, I really was looking forward to this evening off....
