LJ Smudging [Jul. 24th, 2009|03:46 pm]

[Current Mood |lovedloved]

Ferrett had a great idea to try and brighten up a time filled with angst and problems. Today is an LJ smudging. Only good thoughts, only good things only happiness.

My happy? I have loads of happy. The other day at the dentist several people commented on how clearly in love Ferrett and I are. I smiled at one woman and said, "Yup; newlyweds for almost 10 years now." And it's true. When I look at him, it makes me smile. I love to hear him talk, I love to share my life with him. I still think he's the most awesome person in the entire world.

I have two amazing, intelligent, beautiful daughters. They are both fabulous, funny, and gorgeous. I love watching their lives unfold.

I have wonderful friends and loves who fill my life with joy and laughter. I am deeply fortunate to have the love of such wonderful people in my life.

My brother is coming to town next week with his daughter. Since his divorce he is a much happier person. I'm looking forward to their visit. Since both my sisters are here in Ohio, we will be able to get all four of us together for the first time in four years.

Life is a good thing.

I think the smudging is great because it makes people focus on happy things. Its so easy to get negative, but when someone flat out asks you to think of the good things, suddenly your whole day gets better.

As for me, I have a shiny new phone, I'm almost finished with a research paper, and I have epic plans for this weekend. Good times!

In a couple weeks, my daughter and I are going back to Tampa to see family and friends. My husband, who is staying home alone, is happy for us and encouraging us to go and have as much fun as we can shove into 12 days. All he asked for is a couple new DVDs and a game or two. We found the games, now to find a few new movies for him. He is happy to have the solitude, we ae happy to have our friends and family.

There was a news blurb on the radio today about how many people have lost net-worth due to the current recession and the hubby and I looked at each other and realized that we are MUCh better off than we were just a year ago. We own everything outright, are slowly buying the gear (again - no credit) to start our own film studio, I'm in school to go into a high demand career that I believe I will love, we live in a nice home in a nice town with his family just down the road. The ONLY fly in our ointment - we have to help fix the in-laws computers! How's that for a complaint in today's time!!

Love ya Gini and Ferrett!!

I was glad he did it. It was a good exercise, because looking at the world in a brighter way was really where I needed to be.

I have many, many friends that would do damned near anything for me. (They might actually subtract the "damned near", but I would never ask that!)

And I have a wonderful woman that loves me fiercely and joyously all of the time, and asks absolutely nothing in return other than I love her the same way, and that I be the best I can be.

I get paid solidly well to do work that really matters, and is well-suited to my psyche. I see beauty and causes for happiness almost everywhere I look. And there are two adorable sleepy cats in this room with me at this very moment.
