It is if you do not summarize. "New post!" tells me nothing. "I'm selling all my stuff and moving to Japan to live as a monk, what do you think?" causes me to erupt from my chair and run into the room to stop you.
Also, um, typo in the title.
In my own wanky opinion is that the heads up doesn't give a lead in to what the post is about... so the heads up is something I tend to ignore.
Keep mentioning. It's easier to click on f-list links than remember to check another site.
You ought to put in your journal what you want in your journal.
And what she wants to put in her journal are things that will not annoy her readers.
I have it on feed, so don't need the reminders, but don't mind them, either.
+1 I added the RSS feed, which has been showing up pretty much right after your LJ post about the blog in the other place, so it's redundant to me. If others want to read what you're writing, they can still do so through LJ without doing anything different, so posting about the fact that you're posting elsewhere isn't necessary for me, but if it makes you happy, go right ahead. Your prerogative to post what you want where you want as often as you want... those who wish to read will. Those that don't won't, one way or another....
I have you on a feed so I just skip these type...though I admit I get excited because of the possibility of a new post to read and then become disappointed when it's just an announcement.
I subscribed to your site (having it sent to my e-mail) but I haven't commented yet. I will soon, though!
Not annoying, except in the sense that you make me feel like a total slacker.
LOL! Well, I managed to get a lot of office work done, and get in a bit of exercise, but then I got lost in a good book while rewarding myself with that hot bath.
As mentioned, I like it as long as there is some context. I like that blog because it's this very soothing sort of tone and it's so pleasant to read.
Yes, I've made a conscious decision that my blogs and Facebook/Twitter are disconnected from each other, so you won't see redundancy.
Oooh people said there is a feed? Where is the feed? I put feeds on my flist and click from there.
Best for me if you mention it here, since I keep forgetting to go there, but I do check my LJ friends' lists regularly. Thank you!
Yes! Keep mentioning it, and yes, as Ferrett says, summarize briefly.
If someone has a problem with it they can scroll on by.
No, I like it, it reminds me to go and look!
