Me, today:

"Hey, goldenrod is starting to bloom! It will be great for our bees! Maybe we will get some honey!"

"Hey, goldenrod is starting to bloom! My eyes!!! AAAAAAAGH!!!!"

Goldenrod blooms about the same time ragweed does. Ragweed is the usual severe allergen. Makes my eyes SQUIRT tears.

Weirdly enough, I've heard that goldenrod can actually HELP with allergies if taken internally. Never investigated that myself, as I'm not allergic to it, but it might be worth looking into, especially if you know anyone trustworthy & knowledgeable about herbs! Myself, I have dried it & used in tea as a decongestant, and it works great for that.
