lol you are like the fifth person i've seen do this in two days.
Me? I'm blogging more in the last couple of weeks than i have in years, a) because i'm in a place with internet and b) i'm on vacation, so have nothing more pressing to make me feel guilty about sitting on my ass and blogging.
Over the last couple of years though, i find myself blogging here more than anywhere else. My blogger sites are all about my interests, and facebook is all about my family. But this is me, uncensored because only people 'out there' read it.
This. I keep away from controversial subjects on FB, and most people in RL don't know about this blog, so I can express my true thoughts here without a visit from the Elders. :D
You can always count on me to provide non meta content.
Granted, it may be weird, obscene or offensive non meta content, but it will be there.
hey i like reading your posts.
I was thinking about this very thing last night. I tend to be a "late adopter," so by the time I join in on something, be it cell phones or LJ, it's a sign of impending decline.
My teenager assures me that email and voice are strictly for old people like me, and youth only use Facebook and text to communicate. The thought of reading an entire blog entry makes him break into a cold sweat.
The difficulty in tracing the history on Facebook or Twitter depresses me. It's a kind of impermanence that I dislike.
Huh. I have a few friends like that (although usually the "I'm not typing here as much" is followed by actual content). More I'm hearing "why is nobody else posting here?". Well, either that or silence from the people who fled to DW and don't crosspost.
I tend to see some of that, but lots of "OMG, I will have content soon. In the meantime, kitten!"
Ouch. That sounds even worse than when it was popular to put up daily summaries of tweets.
some people on my flist still do that. really annoying.
I'm still posting because LJ has been my diary and journal for 10.5 years and I see no reason to give it up. I use Facebook only to comment on other people's posts. G+ and Twitter are for ephemera. LJ is about my *life*...
Yeah, that's why I'll never leave, either, unless they shutter the place.
Me too, except without the FB.
I'm only on FB because so many of my friends are, and I got tired of being the only one to not know what was going on. I hate the place, though, and avoid it as much as I can.
At least you don't have comments commenting on comments.
Oh, wait. Sorry about that.
You're way too meta for the room.
And now I have Right Said Fred going through my head for the rest of the day. Thanks.
I'm still here, baby. As fetching and kvetching as ever
Aww, you are. And you're one of the reasons I come by.
I better step up my game
i'm still alive and on here because i have long news to share occasionally.
like the one that's coming out later today on my LJ but i'll give you a sneak hint...
there is going to be crochetting for a small person who has not arrived yet begining soon, and i have to think of an appropriate title for this unarrived person to call me. *grinning way way big*
thank you! my daughter is already whining that "these hormones are making me into a GIRL!!!" and is really happy about the whole thing. this will be the first grandchild on our side, and first great grandchild, too.
so lots of good stuffs!
I left LJ in 2004 (after I'd been here for two years) for a site where a friend of mine let me keep a blog for free. In 2006, I bought my own webspace and started using WordPress. I managed to keep a lot of those LJ posts (from this account), but the ones from my original 'gwyddon' account are long gone; I'm not sure if I just failed to retrieve them or never thought to.
I've backed up to Dreamwidth, but I should probably book them up again sometime soon.
i have an automagic backeruppermathingamabob for wordpress. otherwise i'd never remember to do it.
My posts were always few and far between. I'm just not the blogging type -- I don't think the world needs multiple paragraphs of whatever I might have to say! But I do post a bit, hoping for a little give and take.
But I'm just like ccr1138 -- I always find things right around the time of their demise. Sorry about that!
