Sleep dep is no fun [Apr. 21st, 2013|10:35 pm]
Zoethe
Last night there apparently was a cloud of insomnia launched at Cleveland. I gave up on thrashing around in the marital bed and moved to the guest room at about 2am, but that did not save Ferrett from sleeplessness until 5. And then I learned that at least two other friends were rattling around like marbles in a soup can at that same hideous hour. It really is vile to hear birds singing before you even manage to fall asleep.

Today we went to see the documentary "Room 237" at the Cedar Lee Theater, and honestly the trailers were the best part of the trip. The movie is about all the conspiracy theories surrounding Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining," but it was so poorly imagined and put together that I kept falling asleep.

Then there was two hours of napping in the afternoon. I was having this really fascinating dream about being at a Hogwarts sort of school and fighting evil. Waking up was a bummer.

Apparently that insomnia cloud has drifted southward. Quarter to 3:00 a.m. and still no sleep in sight, and can't even toss and turn properly lest I wake the baby. This doesn't bode well for my workday tomorrow.

That's the one time when the family bed is a source of frustration.

Oy, don't get me started on insomnia. I'll just leave it at I know what you're talking about and you have my sympathies.

with all the horrible and scary that goes on in the world, I'm surprised more people don't complain about insomnia.

(((hugs)))

And,even though it's not great news, it's good to be hearing from you again.

I must have sent it from the north, because I didn't fall asleep until 5 either (only to be woken up by the BF texting at 10).

I was awakened at 10 by the daughter pacing while she talked on the phone. I did not kill her, which is a sign of what a kind person I am.

It sounds like the insomnia was caused by a high frequency sound beam via satellite. I recommend tinfoil hats.

Considering that people used to wad foil up on the top of TV rabbit ears to improve reception, I have doubts about the tinfoil hat theory....
