|The burn of stupid

I've come up with a new word: irritaining. It's when something aggravating happens, but it's so ridiculous or absurd that you can't help but laugh at it.|
In this case, it was a heating bill that came with the acknowledgement that we are now on an automatic deduction program and a shut-off notice. Because they didn't actually take the payment out last month when we set up the automatic pay. So there they were with the ability to deduct the payment and instead saying they were going to shut off our gas. For, by the way, only one month's payment. The whole bill was less that $200.
Now, I regularly see people with gas bills over $2,000 and have seen them up to $6,000+. And they still have utility service. But our $112.52 triggered threats. And they could get the money any time they wanted!
Ferrett called and straightened it out, but there was that moment of staring at this absurd bill and laughing at the damned thing.
Wow. Just, wow. A well-coined word, which I will doubtless steal.
A very useful word, in my world. It will most likely be applied to interactions with the father of my children.
Alas, this is what happens when things are automated and not enough thought/testing is put into the programming.
And yeah.... irritating and entertaining at the same time.
I'm so using that word in my fanfic.
btw, I had a lovely time and am frantically attempting to make my house look less "Hoarders"-y so I can invite you and Ferret over. :)
We had fun, too! And seriously do not worry about the house--you didn't see our basement!
When the left hand doesn't know what the right one is doing.
the wonders of the electronic age.
adore the bugs bunny btw LOL
Bugs expressed how I felt pretty darned well.
Maintenance Enforcement is irritaining like that; if you even go a dollar in the negative, they send you a notice in the mail threatening you with collections. Even if your next scheduled payment will more than cover the difference.
The huffiness of the customer service agent Ferrett spoke to wasn't necessary, however.
There's a special level of hell for that amount of stupid.
Shared with people who insist on talking in the theater.
Irritaining, indeed! I like that word. I would sometimes be admonished for laughing at seeminingly inappropriate times but sometimes, there's nothing to do but laugh at a situation.
I've been using the word "horrimusing" for things that are horrifying & amusing at the same time.
