Had to go to the doctor today for the pain in my left foot. Turns out it's a stress fracture. No running for 4 to 6 weeks. Still allowed to bike, if it doesn't hurt. Swimming and strength training allowed. |
To keep me motivated and my spirits up, I just registered for the Perry's Victory Triathlon on August 11, one week after Pedal to the Point.
And speaking of Pedal to the Point, I am way behind on my fundraising! Only $270 of my $2000 goal so far. You people aren't torturing my at all--I'm already biked twice as many miles as dollars! C'mon, folks, make me work for it!
Here's the link to my donation page. And thanks, everyone!

Ouch! Here's to quick healing. I'm loving reading about the triathlon and the biking and such. I'm a big gal, too, and arthritic, and I've got vague plans in the back of my head to get a recumbent bike to get some exercise. The town we live in is full of bike paths and bike lanes.
You absolutely should. Exercise helps arthritis a lot. I hope you get inspired!
You ran a triathlon with a stress fracture? Holy shit! Total respect, woman.
If you have the urge (when you're healed) feel free to send me a video of your running form. I might have some suggestions to stop that stuff.
So.... what you're telling us is that you ran a triathalon on a broken foot?
DAMN. That's something impressive right there.

owie. Hope your foot heals up quickly!
It's slow, and the change in my gait means my knee is bothering me a bit. But I'm getting better, bit by bit!
