Brain: I'm awake! Let's go!!
Body: Whoa! We've only slept 5 hours!
Brain: I'm ready to go! Go go go!!
Body: Look, have a book. Read for a few minutes to settle back down.
Brain: Yay! Books! I love books!
Body: Just a few minutes now. 10 or 15?
[6:55am]
Body: Well, the alarm is going off in 5 minutes, so we might as wel--
Brain: Wow, I'm really tired now. I wanna go back to sleep.
Body: ... I will cut you.

Is it worth keeping a pen and some paper by the bed, so you can write the insight down, then promptly go back to sleep?

This is my life for 2013. Haven't had uninterrupted sleep awaking to the alarm all this year.
