I made Law Review!

(For those of you who don't know, this is the one honor in law school that actually matters - to the point that one of the attorneys in our office suggested that I just quit working and go to law school fulltime because, "if you have law review, you won't have any trouble getting a job.")

(And for the record, yes, quitting work and going to school fulltime is a fantasy of mine; no, I don't think I will get to fulfill it.)

Re: YES!

I will cheerfully rub up against you for luck, but I continue on my sugar-free quest!

We will ahve a picnic though. Never fear.

In Magic parlance, you're a savage beating!

And you never know...sometimes fantasies do come true...

Re:

Woohoo! A savage beating! I like that [g].

Sometimes they do, true. Not seeing a lot of hope for this one, though....

Oh, well. If I stop working I won't be nearly as legandary. [g]

Outstanding!

I'd say something nice, but if all you hear is our voices of praise, you will be severely handicapped come the fall; your head will be so swollen that it won't fit through the Law School door and you will be forced to listen sitting on a specially built scaffolding.

So, in a fit of jealousy, you suck.

Just as an aside, I think that I will end up doing 3L as full time. There are internships and placements that I've been told are crucial to the job thing that have to be done between 2L and 3L, and I want that SEC job, darn it. You might be able/willing to do that too - the internship for the summer and the loans available might keep body and soul together until you can mise the serious lawyer paychecks. (I can do Magicspeak too.)

Re: Outstanding!

Yeah, one of the women in my office is encouraging me to see if next summer I can be an intern instead of a paralegal at the firm. It's a long way out there, but not a bad idea - and it pays over the summer damned near what I'm making over the course of a year. A possibility, but so far down the road that I can't even consider it yet.

Thanks for the kudos, though. Even the kick in the seat ;-)

Re: Outstanding!

You're welcome, and thanks for your very kind words over on my Journal.

I would encourage you to take the step from paralegal to intern, though I know nothing of the difference other than pay. However, the thing I realized a month or so ago is that I have some talent for Law, as do you (and you probably have more than me - I probably won't make Law Review, though I wanna), and really, the best use of that talent is to work, as much as possible, doing law. I'm jumping ship as soon as I can - I just got addicted to things like health insurance, and eating steak, and boxes of each new Magic Expansion. Greed'll get me in the end.

Re: Outstanding!

Health insurance, movie tickets, and decent food are pretty addictive, I must admit. I am getting to do legal research and a lot of interesting stuff (though right now it's boring as hell because we're in a transition and all I'm doing is file management), so I will have to see next summer what interning looks like (I should be in the central office, where the interns work, by then) and decide for the following summer.

And, hey, we can be a mutual admiration society - everyone needs empathetic bravos!
