I just kept mentally going back to the movie Signs and hearing: "Vaminos children, vaminos!"
When I was small, I used to entertain that our species would help a being from another planet/universe/plane of existence, but as I've grown older I've come to understand that we'd just blow it up.
This fact makes me very sad. :(
Of course. We shoot first and ask questions later.
What I'm worried about is that one of these advanced races may come take the few of us worth saving and blow US up instead. -_-
Still, Mexico has an air force??? o.O I didn't know that either...
Yeah, and then get our asses handed to us. We're idiots.
Yes; please see Radio Free Albemuth by Philip K. Dick, and behold the marked similarity between that president and ours...

"we'd just blow it up..."
as per "The Day The Earth Stood Still," which is still a very wonderful film even after all these years.
My first reaction was pretty much the same, after a moment of pure "Yeah, whatever." I think we (we being us people that have wished for PROOF of UFOs) have been shafted a few too many times over the years to just automatically believe every new tape that comes out.
The fact that this has military backing kind of intrigues me, however, and though the video doesn't prove much of anything it's nice to think that maybe there is something out there.
Though why they'd visit here makes me wonder...
I applaude the Mexican government for being so open about this UFO experience they had, instead of burying it(like the US government does)
I had a friend that work in radar in California abour 20 years ago, in the late 70's. Military radar, he said the stuff he saw on radar, UFOs that were constently turning up (and scrambling air force jets to chase them down) was incredible. Not one or two, but dozens and dozens in his time there. I asked him if he ever wondered what they were, he said, "I don't want to know, because it was above us in every way."
I don't think the question is if there is life out there, I think the question is what is it going to try and do to us when it finds us... (since we would disect and study it and then destroy it, what horrors might a more civilized race do to us!?)
In all (ashamed) honesty? For many years I didn't think that Canada actually even had an army.
I never really thought it through, I just kind of...thought we protected them, I suppose.
And some of us still hope it's the mother ship. *chuckle* Never really fit in with people, so I must be abandoned by elves or aliens. :) No, I don't seriously believe that, but I seriously never felt like I fit in, not even with my own family.
hehe Mexico has an airforce?"
Hmmmm in the article there is a phrase "the armed forces don't perpetuate fraud"
Well... wish that were so. What about... and... well anyway. This is an interesting article!
Anything advanced enough to send even unmanned probes this way is completely out of our league technologically speaking.
Not to mention, they would have to be able to operate outside the laws of our physical universe, as we currently understand them...
Have to tell you something: my parents, who I love dearly, are quite naive when it comes to technology etc.
They watched a "documentary" about UFOs once and for about two weeks after, they were pensive about standing near a window or walking to the store.
I hope if there is other life forms out there, they won't be the "EVILL aliens" which some movies portray them to be, but more like the ones in "Contact" - ethereal and lovely.
I fear that we are nothing more than a highschool field trip for alien children - "See how primitive life can be?"
