A good deed, well rewarded [Sep. 25th, 2004|04:34 pm]
[Current Mood |happyjoyful]

Jon arrived today. I drove Kris over to the hotel to get them checked in, and as we were unloading her stuff a cab dropped him off.

They just wrapped each other up in their arms and sobbed. Their aching joy at being together again left me a little misty-eyed, I must confess.

I left the two of them to spend the rest of the weekend together. On Monday evening I will probably bring them over here to watch a movie and hang out a bit, and make a trip to Target so that Kris can pick up a bathrobe and other sundries for the hotel. On Wednesday night my class is cancelled, so maybe we will do something fun with them before she goes into the hospital Thursday morning.

Jon hugged me and told me he didn't know how to thank me enough.

And that was thanks enough.

You are such an incredibly wonderful sister.

When I had my spinal fusion a couple of years ago, my favorite thing was my big fluffy comfy slippers. They had the cushiest bottom and were covered in big loops of chenille. They were wonderful for puttering (slowly!) around the hospital room and then at home. And they came from Target. I highly recommend them. :)

She has a pair of cushy slippers, and would not go into the hospital without them!

May this be a year of improved health for Kristi.

May her pain lessen and may your familial bonds strengthen.

Y'all are wonderful people.
