[Current Mood |sleepysleepy]

Me: "This is only going to be a 10-minute conversation."

Erin: "Aw, why?"

Me: "Because I need to go to bed. But I just wanted to say hi."

[40 minutes pass]

Me: "Okay, I am really hanging up now. I love you. Goodbye."

Do all mothers do that? I can guarantee that when my mother says "Well, I'll let you go now" we're going to talk for at least another half hour. :)

I do that to my mom as much as vice-versa. And we both do it to everyone else we know.

I think it's an inherited trait or something.. but it keeps conversations going for hours sometimes!

awwww sometimes we need those long little talks with the kids. :)

J called me at work last night just to "talk" and so forth. It made my night that she still needs me like that.

That's true with me and my mom as well. I always thought it was just because we talk so infrequently, though. Maybe it is actually just some kind of Mom Mojo Telephone Alchemy going on, though. Couldn't tell you. I'm the same way with my dad, too, but that's because we're both Old-School Southern Tradition story-tellers... and THAT is a WHOLE other kettle of fish. :-D
