Fitness filter - stratergery [Mar. 24th, 2005|07:10 am]

The new plan, as carried out yesterday:

1.) Skip working out.

2.) Eat way more than I intended.

3.) Wake up almost 2 pounds lighter.

4.) Do not attempt to repeat - that way leads to madness.

Last night I got a whole new wardrobe. And it was hanging right here in my closet! About a year ago I went nuts ordering suits on clearance from Roaman's and Jessica London. I ordered in what I thought was my size, but when they got here it turned out that they were all cut much smaller than the Lane Giant or Silouhettes sizes, and none of them fit.

I was too ashamed to send them back.

Yesterday I decided to see if I could get into them, and low and behold I was a regular fashion show! The really nice part is that they are mostly in great colors for spring and summer, so I will be able set for the coming seasons. I looked nice, I felt good, and I was able to recognize that it's okay to be the size I am for now. I don't have to be impatient with myself, just keep concentrating on being healthier and let things take their natural course. It's the whole basis of what I'm doing, but it's easy to lose track of, so it was great to get that insight back again yesterday.

That was a good, good feeling.

Now I've gotten up on time, worked out, eaten breakfast, and am trying to decide if I feel crappy enough to stay home. It comes in waves, this crappy feeling. I was fine, now I'm bleah again.

Ah, well. Off to the shower.

(Oh, and the icon? That is what I look like in my fantasies. Complete with the gun.[g])

(P.S. - I left this one public, in case anyone else who didn't know about my fitness filter wants to be put on it. I've gotten a number of new readers since I started this a while back. Sorry to those of you who aren't interested; I promise I won't be carrying on blubber babble in public too often!)

Yay. I also have a wide variety of clothes that have never been worn, in various sizes. Congrats on the "new" duds.

It's sort of sad, isn't it? I feel so grateful that I'm finally getting to wear the clothes I spent all this money on!

Not sad. You saved them because you hoped to be able to wear them. Now you can. That's all woo-hoo, all the way.

I could use any additional motivation I can get (says she who has not been to the gym in a week and counting now....); I'd like to be on the filter.

hi there. I found you through gieves and I just have to say that your success is quite inspiring. I've recently started exercising for health and it's nice to hear someone else's struggles. I also have to say that you just seem like an amazing person - not many can handle job, law school, sick friend, and still manage to keep on track with this kind of project. major kudos to you.
