Here's a "blood for oil" scheme I can endorse: next week the Red Cross is having a blood drive at our office. If you give, you get a coupon for a free oil change at a local garage.
It's finally warmed up here, enough that last night I reversed the flow of the ceiling fan in our bedroom - which had been set to blow upward and thereby gently distribute the airflow - to a regular, downward flow and turned it up to High. I was pleased - a sign of spring.
Pleasure gave way to alarm when it started snowing dustbunnies.
It made sense - reverse the pattern and turn up the speed, of course stuff that's accumulated is gonna come off. But, geez, I dusted those not all that long ago. It's amazing how much dust was up there.
I am never gonna finish this paper. [groans of frustration] At least everyone else I've talked to in class is having the same problem.
I thought, "Ohmigosh, why is she still awake?" And then I remembered that you were getting up at 4am now to do homework. Whew.
What's the deal with the fan settings, anyway? Something about it's supposed to draw the air up... but if you have your heat on, and the hot air is rising, don't you want your fan pointed down? Ours were all set to "up" in the new apt and there was dust all over the ceiling. I'm from FL though... there is no setting other than "down". *g*
Yeah, you'd think that setting to down would be good with the heat on, but actually settng to up forces circulation to a larger part of the room.
As a practical matter, we can't sleep without the white noise and in the winter it's too chilly to have it blowing directly down on us, so we reverse it for that reason as much as any other.
Why are YOU awake???
I work from midnight to 8:30am. *g* If I fell asleep in the middle of my shift I think Andy (my superisor) would do something evil to me.
I'll have to try that with the fans... we're the same way with the noise. I'm also used to having the breeze, so sleeping in a room without a fan feels stuffy.
While you and your classmates may all singularly not be able to finish the paper, together I think you will find it much easier to accomplish. With that in mind, the solution should be obvious to you - kill them all and eat their brains.
Wow. That makes so much sense to me right now!
My logic is the best kind of logic.
Your logic is the brainolicious logic :)
My paper is all finished! Problem is it's about 5 pages shorter than it should be.
darn paper requirements!
I managed to get enough done not to embarrass myself handing it in (just a first draft this week, thank goodnes), but it's pathetic.
Can we please have an update on Kristi and if you guys every made that call?
I'm on tenterhooks here!
I liked how the Army used to do it, at least in some places, and maybe still does, I dunno. Anybody who attempts to give blood gets the day off. They don't penalize you if you try to give blood and can't - for instance, if your iron is too low.
That's a nice gesture. Everyone can use a day off!
