Fun fun fun! [Mar. 23rd, 2006|01:56 pm]
[Current Mood |sicksick]

Dragged myself out of bed early this morning, did the homework I needed to accomplish for class tonight, and then jumped in the shower.

After the shower, laid back down on the bed, sweating and panting like I had run a marathon. While extremely nauseated.

And yet, here I am, at work. I'm very impressed with my stamina, because I have clearly been here at least 17 hours already today. No matter what the damned clock says.

Can't figure out what's wrong with the environmental controls, either. First I'm freezing, then I'm sweating, then I'm freezing again. All in a matter of minutes.

The halls are also a lot longer now. It's about a quarter mile to the bathroom. And somehow uphill both ways.

So why am I here? Simple: there's work that needs doing, and no one but me to do it.

Here's the great irony, though. I've pretty much accomplished all the deadline-stuff. I really could go home, once I've talked to one more person. But I have class tonight, so what would be the point of driving all the way home only to turn around and come back?

Responsibility is great stuff, lemme tell ya.

You impress me greatly. I'd be at home in bed saying "screw work and class." Good vibes and mojo flowing your way...

I'm sorry you're so sick. It sounds miserable. Is there some place at/near work where you can nap after the One More Person & before class?

hot cold hot cold?

Aren't you about my age? (43)

Peri-menopause can gift you with your first hot flashes. Stress and sleep deprivation exacerbates them...

Yeah, but this ain't it. I have had those before, briefly. This is flu-bug ickiness.

(That's a technical, medical term, you know.)

;-) (And I'm older than you - almost 48. Just FYI)

Do you still have the flu or reaching the "womanly change" (as my sister-in-law INSISTS on calling it). When I had Captain Tripps (what I called the awful flu I got, props to Gayle for giving me the proper term from The Stand)I got a 104 degree fever an hallucinated about Eric-oddly more comforting than scary but still weird. Feel better luv!

Not the change. I've had some symptoms before, and this is not at all like it.

I remember my first 'real' job, and being newly pregnant and tired all the time. The Ladies Lounge had a sofa, and every day I napped for 50 minutes after eating my lunch in the first 10. My friends knew to wake me if they didn't see me back at 1:00. Maybe you have such a luxury at your place of work?

Oh, please. We have plastic chairs, hard plastic chairs. A couch would be wonderful.
