I really do have the best husband on the planet [Jan. 21st, 2009|08:53 pm]
[Current Mood |lovedadoring]

Ferrett, upon reading my clutter freakout, silently and without fuss cleared out a big chunk of the clutter that had been hanging out in our bedroom. The clutter was completely my doing - bookcases that needed moving and boxes of books that needed unpacking - but he followed through on my expectations without fuss, outside my hearing range, and only because he knew that I was stressed.

How completely awesome and loving and adorable is that?

You are the best, my sweasel. There's none to compare.

I consider myself to be among the luckiest women in the world. And yet I know other guys who are also this sweet. They are not perfect - gods know that there are times when I could give him a good thumping of the ears, and he is among the best - but with a little give and take, they are awesome, awesome guys.

I wish them upon you, dearheart.

I may actually have found one...

I'm pretty skittish, so it will take time for me to trust that..

I mean seriously... What is more romantic than a card (that he FOUND) with two cats, sitting on a fence in the moonlight; one saying to the other, "If I had two dead rats, I'd give you one?"

The coolest thing about it (probably only to me; it would likely repel most women and they would find it tacky)

He found it on the ground while out walking.

This was not an "event" card.

He saw it laying there and said, "Wow, that's how I feel"

Ya know, I treasure that silly, crumpled up card that someone discarded.

At Christmas (the "expected" get a card holiday) he gave me a handwritten note on a card from the Wildlife conservancy along with an upgrade to my little point and shoot camera (more megapixels and he knew I would not buy one for myself)

the note said,

"I give this to you, because I believe in your dreams"

There just aren't words...

It is awesome, but it will take me time to trust it...

I've made bad decisions in the past. Growing up in an abusive, alcoholic household, I never had a model for a "functional" relationship.

It's common for men to fall in love with "the idea" of me, and then be disappointed to find that I can't stay on that pedestal (no one can) and that I'm human with all the same weaknesses and insecurities.

But I do have hope, for the first time, in a long time...

I believe in you. That you are ready to bend where bending is needed and ready to stand firm where firmness is required.

The goddess is within you.

I am struck aghast by the romance.

This from a woman who regarded two books on Constitutional history a highly romantic gift. So *I* know.

Work on this one, babe.
