It's late, and I haven't posted. I'm at a loss for a topic. Instead, tell me something interesting.

How about a meme going around in my circle of friends? You name 10 favorite things that are red. Then you tag the next person and give them a color.

10 favorite things that are red? Wow, red is a tough color for me. I can't wear orangey reds, only very clear reds or bluish reds, so I tend not to bring a lot of red into my life. But I think I can do this:

1. Strawberries
2. Santa Claus
3. Strawberry daiquiris
4. Netflix envelopes!
5. Valentines
6. Red hots
7. Raspberries
8. Apples
9. Geraniums
10. Stop signs (they are handy)

Undoubtedly as soon as I post this I will think of other things.

I have two pounds of cherries and I am worried I'll eat them all tonight.

The world will not end on 11/11/11 of a burst methane bubble in the Gulf of Mexico.

Of course not!

It won't end until 2012. I saw the movie.

;-)

My office and the surrounding city lost power today. We supposedly have a backup generator that will support the whole building for days, but they maxed it out after 20 minutes. I'm in the office right now bringing up all the servers that this backup system failed to support. Nice.

Swell. Someone might want to do something about that.

Does this count as interesting?

Someone just interviewed my spouse as part of the research for a dissertation.

Either we're all weird here or other families have conversations like these. We just finished a discussion on the ethics of farting at the dinner table --- where the two English majors cited classic literature sources for it as a part of humor while the male counterpart squirmed in embarrassment.

That's amusing. Sounds like the kind of conversations in which I find myself embroiled!

I now know how to diagnose bipolar disorder and depression. This makes me both awesome and, apparently, scary.

Portobella mushrooms that have been grilled over hickory chips are awesome in a pasta salad with tomatoes and roasted red peppers.

I got my nipples pierced last week. It was a very strange experience. Especially because shortly after letting my piercer stab my lady lumps, I was overcome with wanting to ask him for his number, because he was so damn cute. Luckily, I overcame the urge.

6 years ago this week I was diagnose with cancer. In September I begin my second semester of graduate school. A couple of weeks ago, I sent a thank you note to my oncologists.

Now if I can just find myself a nice piece of arm candy......

If you ever want to see a garden grow like a motherfucker, come garden in Georgia.

My watermelon vine is rapidly getting too big for my 4 foot wide planter. My tomato plants are growing taller than their stakes. My basil is enough for eleven-billion pestos. And I could probably take shelter under my okra plant.

Behold the power of 95 degree days with scorching sun and afternoon drenching downpours. :)
