Girly bits [Aug. 9th, 2010|07:30 am]
Zoethe

First glance at the bathroom floor, and you would not have been foolish to jump to the conclusion that my liver had evacuated my body.

I am 52 years old. I keep trying to send a memo to my uterus: I don't know why you are so ambitious, but there is NO WAY you are ever going to be occupied again. You can stop trying so hard. But my body does not listen to these pleas of mine.

I am SO done with this.

i tried to get them to take the whole shebang when i had tayler - he was delivered by c-section. of course they wouldn't. they even made me go back two months later to get my tubes tied instead of doing it while i was wide open. jerks.

Of course not. Pregnant women aren't smart enough to know their own minds.

Grr.

I had to wait 6 weeks. My gyn said they needed to wait for everything to go back to pre-pregnancy size and position. Made sense to me. He went in through the navel, put a bandaid on at the end and I have no scar.

Seriously. I'd just put in a tampon, but this was a clot that would not be held back!!

I stopped using them for a while, but went back because things seemed to be getting a bit lighter. Silly me.

i asked the nurse practitioner at the dr's office i go to if i should be getting up every hour through the night to change. she said no of course. i shouldn't be getting up at all. even so, i still can't find anyone willing to give me a hysterectomy. they're all too busy trying to treat my chronic anemia ... duh?

Look up uterine ablation. It looks like a possible help.

Stepping in to say this is pretty much why I'm on meds so that I don't have a period (that and they are extremely painful - I have endometriosis and ovarian cysts). When I did have periods, they lasted 2-3 weeks and were heavy pretty much the whole time. My mom thought I didn't understand how tampons worked b/c I went through so many when I was younger - then she sent me to the gyno at 12 or 13. I started using a cup and I found it easier than a tampon and didn't have to change it as much (of course, they are a little awkward to use if you acn't empty it at home).
