A probably-too-complete photo album of the day. I don't cut for long entries, but it's all pictures and going to make you scroll a dozen times?

Cuddled up in fleece

We have several pictures of us - we were bored - but this one tells the tale well enough.

We start sorting the stack We start sorting the stack
There were about 40 dresses piled up here. We tried to get an orderly sorting down while Erin tried on dresses, but other bridal teams beset us pretty quickly and keeping focus with three team members being ADD? Not so much - it was chaos, but fun chaos.

Notice the look on Erin's face.

A better shot of the two-tone dress. Not quite so pink.

It really was quite pretty. Many people asked for it but we weren't willing to part with it.

She looked great in this dress. But her face tells the story.

This dress had a great train, but the color was just a little too ecru.

Yes, you guessed it. This is the Strong Maybe dress that we eventually gave to the other bride. It was really close.

Our discards/trade pile. It's a good thing there were no men shopping for jeans.

Starting to try on shapes we knew didn't really work. Like halter style. Kind of cute, but not structured to support The Girls.

But the really interesting part was the back of the dress. The monk sash was seriously cathedral length.

This was one of our last maybes. The top was striking, and the skift long enough that someone could probably add pickups. But where is the love?

Love the skirt, hate the bodice; hate the bodice, love the skirt. This has been the story of our day.

A nice fit, a real possibility for a garden wedding. Different from anything else we've looked at. Maybe pile.

The completely ridiculous dress. Wonderful if you are dressing for Easter. In 1962. But wait - what's Mom got in her hand?

Happy best friends. This has been a bonding experience. Meaghan swore she'd never go to a Running. Now she wants to bring her mom here when it's her turn.

The one with the black embroidery is very similar to the one my cousin was married in last fall. But the embroidery on hers was a brilliant deep scarlet, as was the satin binding on the veil. Erin looks so beautiful!!!! I'm glad she found The Dress. :)

Thank you. I bet that dress was gorgeous. We still have to think about the veil, but it was kinda amazing.

Thanks for sharing those! I enjoyed the 'vicarious' experience and I wish all of you the very best in the exciting months ahead!

My 'bride' and her new hubby are finished with a "honeymoon road trip" around the U,S, and are getting settled with new jobs and apartment in Louisville KY!

Congratulations to the bride and groom.

Sometimes planning for the happy moment can be as fun as the moment itself.

Congratulations to Erin and her future beau.

Considering the moment lasts about 10 minutes, the planning had better be fun. It really was a coming-of-age rite, though.

That looks like so much fun!
Not shopping for a dress is probably my only regret from my wedding. I was going to wear my mother's dress but it wouldn't fit. So one day I snuck away between law school classes and stopped at Davids Bridal. I pulled three dresses off of the rack, really liked one of them, called my mom to have her cone to the store for a look and that was it. I still like the dress I wore, but I should have dragged out the experience a little!

I borrowed my cousin's, so I didn't shop at all. I was really glad to get to do it with her. It was wonderful fun.

This would have been my choice, for me personally, if I were at Running for me. :)

Her choice was gorgeous, and best, it was Her. :)

It stayed with us until the very end, because it was a serious Maybe. But as Erin said, it was just a little too plain for her.

Every bride has a different picture of The Dress. We were lucky enough to have the tears that tell.
