No tent, and yet the damp... [Sep. 28th, 2010|09:46 am]

Okay, maybe the stress IS getting to us. We not only apparently left the tube of construction adhesive we'd paid for behind in the shopping cart at Home Depot, we also left the back door of the car wide open all night. All. Rainy. Night. Quite the puddle there in the footwell. *sigh*

We left the window open in the rain once. The car still smells slightly off.

Hope things are more ordered for you soon and you will be able to enjoy all the beautiful new changes that you have made to your home.

hose it down with lysol mold and mildew disinfectant. i had that happen to me before. once i got all that taken care of, i got some febreeze car spray and hosed it down with that. after all of that, the car smelled much better.

I've soak up most of it. When it stops pouring rain I will do more.

As I said elsewhere, it's going in the garage so I can open it up to air out.

We haven't been parking in the garage because stuff is in the way. I think I will be fixing that problem tonight. At least then I can open all the doors and help it dry out.

That might help with the feeling of needing to DO something too.

*hugs* Sorry Gini. I hope this is all over soon and you both get a chance to unwind.

Maybe a night to dress up, get away from it all, and spend time together/with some good friends would help? VTR?

We are spending this evening with friends, and my work schedule will keep me out of the house much of the rest of the week.

Part of the stress is wanting to clean and having it be pointless for the moment. It's frustrating.

Good, I'm glad to hear you'll be away with friends and busy.

I do understand the frustration. I've been where you are now, but without the same AWESOMENESS of the result. Next house I have is going to be MY house and damn the real estate business!

Of what we are doing, only the paint is questionable for resale purposes. But I don't care. I want it to be MINE.

The Home Depot near my house told me once that if I forgot anything like that, to call the store and talk to a manager, they'll usually replace it free of charge. His rationale was twofold, one - it keeps customers happy and two - if you left it in the store it will find its way back to stock and get resold.

I gave that a shot, but they didn't find it.

There's always the Top Gear solution to water in the footwell...
