Fuhsteration! [Dec. 29th, 2011|10:07 am]
I'm blogging now. I shouldn't be blogging now. I should be putting the suitcases into the car and saying goodbye, ready to drive to the airport.

But instead I'm blogging, because United canceled our flight.

Oh, they were quite nice about it. They changed us to an afternoon flight and everything. But it means that instead of getting home in the early evening, we get home at midnight. Whereafter we have to try and fall immediately into bed so we can get up in the morning and get right to work, rather than having an evening to unwind and get back on schedule.

It's interesting: I really don't want to leave California, but if I have to I'd rather just get it over with. The delay is irksome.

I do have to say that my worry that I would suddenly adjust to Pacific Time was unfounded. I woke up at 5:30 this morning and could not talk myself into going back to sleep.

That's such a pain :( I hope your flight(s) home are uneventful to make up for it.

I never did adjust to Arizona time. I was in bed by 10 or 11 every night, and up by 7 or 8. (so, pretty normal non-work bedtime and rising times - midnight or 1am, and up by 9 or 10) I struggled a bit to fall asleep last night but not any more than is (sadly) normal for me after a long weekend.

Safe journies!

My condolences. Being delayed in something you don't really want to do (but must) is right up there with "the food is horrible, and such small portions." Seemingly ironic, but actually doubly frustrating.

A very apt comparison!

If you were in the San Francisco Bay Area, I'm sorry we missed a chance to meet in person.

I share your frustration with the airlines in general. They never treated passengers well, and things have become progressively worse since 9/11. I love to travel and see new places, so I look upon the airlines as a "necessary evil."

We were only in the airport at SFO. Vacaville for the holidays. But it's such a family-filled event that we simply don't try to see anyone while we are out here.

For one thing, it would be too hard to decide who to see!

Sorry to hear it :( (Also, hello from the SF Bay area to wherever you are.)

Thanks. This flight, of course, is overbooked and since we forgot about Internet chech-in, we are not currently assigned seats.
