|30 Days of Biking--11 down!
||[Apr. 11th, 2012|09:05 pm]
Today was a tough kind of day, and I was out of the house until after 5, really hungry when I got in, and pretty much ready to give up. I said to Ferrett, "I'm going to go out in the garage, sit on my bike, and say I was at least on my bike."|
"No," he replied. "Go ride around the block. The BIG block."
I grumbled. I refused to change into biking clothes. But I did it. I rode the mile around the block, and felt much better for having done it.
So far I haven't missed a day, riding lots of 9s and 10s and a couple longer rides, 19 and 15. The weather has been kind of dismal--it snowed on me yesterday--but it's supposed to improve and be decent through the weekend.
I'm over 200 miles on my bike so far this year. My legs are a little on the sore side, but a day or so of rest and I will be ready to really hit it again. Hoping for a 20+ before the weekend is out!

I'm glad you got the ride in.
(jfargo - can't log in at the moment)
Though I hope he let you have a snack first. :)
Oh, yes. We had dinner first, in fact!
Good for you! I'm glad you made the effort. We do hiking, and if I can't get to the 'woods' for a REAL hike, I go up the two steep hilly streets behind my house (my 'urban' hike). It's not as good, but it's better than just sitting.
Got out today, too. Two short days, with the plan to take a long ride tomorrow. My knees are a little crabby, so I'm slowing down a bit to let them catch up with the rest of me.
congratulations! i need to catch up!!
It's been eight days since I had a big ride, although I've snuck in a couple of small ones. I'm really hoping that it's not raining a lot tomorrow morning.
I rode 27 miles today. And man, can I feel it.
Do you use any kind of route tracking app? I use Strava on my iPhone, but I usually wipe out my battery around 25 miles.
No, I just have a cyclocomputer on my bike. I put a route app on my phone, but it seemed to be eating batteries even when I wasn't using it, so I deleted it.
