|30 Days of Biking: the final day
||[Apr. 30th, 2012|06:54 pm]
So how to finish out biking all 30 days of 30 Days of Biking? Why, by biking 30 miles, of course! Actually, by the time I got home it was 31 miles, but I did it! I am completely wiped out, but I did it.|
At about 22 miles, I started getting really tired, and the miles seemed to be taking much longer even though I was still moving at the same speed. At 25 miles, the wind changed direction and blasted me with a 10-degree temperature drop--I was glad then that I'd thrown a sweatshirt into my bag! When I got to the final hill, I thought, "I have nothing left. I am gonna have to walk it." But I figured that as long as I was pedaling more than 4 miles an hour it was faster than walking, and by gum I made it all the way up.
My arms are more sore than my legs at this point, and I fear what tomorrow will feel like. But I did it!! That's 263 miles of biking in April, 376 so far for the year.
Of course, you know what the reward is for a job well done. :-)
Yay! Congrats on sticking to it!
Super inspirational, thank you for writing this.
Congratulations. That's pretty cool.I need to get my butt in gear. My knees are really starting to object to my weight and lack of fitness
I definitely feel much improvement in my physical health in the last few months.
Huzzah!!!!!!! GREAT job!!
I think... You may have just inspired me to do this myself. Though it may have to wait until June, seeing as my bike currently needs repairs and refurbishing to the tune of around $100 bucks that I won't have for a couple weeks. Though it's my own fault for letting it languish in my parent's garage for three years....
I hope you get inspired! I'm really enjoying the improvement in my health.
But now you have a streak....you aren't just going to stop, are you? :-)
Man, I am debating whether going again tomorrow is a sign of strength or of obsession! I definitely need to keep training, but I want to do a bit more cross-training as well.
I had too much other stuff going on, mostly health related, to bike more than half the days of April, so I'm glad I didn't commit to riding every day. easier to forgive myself :)
I couldn't have done it if I'd had the health issues I dealt with in March!
Congratulations! Well done you!
Congratulations! It's just about time for me to get back on the bike, too. I should be getting a new road bike at the end of the summer...
WOW. Kudos to you, my dear!
